The yogi in me knows that you really control absolutely nothing in this life, but that does not stop me from grasping and clinging to outcomes. The result is always the same, stress, frustration, and annoyance. Then I say f*^k it, and let it all go, and voila the outcome happens.
In yoga you are not supposed to be attached to outcomes, but to just be present in the moment, do your best effort and allow it to unfold. Easier said then done.
In the yoga classes I have gotten the most out of (thank you Lori Card), looking back, it was the classes where my body just listened and moved, posture after posture, not judging, not struggling, just moving and in that space, between breathe and movement, my mind quiets. That peace just is there.
